THE STORY
While I was living in Africa for a year, it was easy to feel isolated. One of the things that helped me feel at home were two different local families. They welcomed me into their home for tea and meals, let me tag along going through the village, and treated me like family. The kindness showed to me extended to my own family in the U.S.

I started Huntsville Global Friends with a small cluster of friends to extend a welcome to international students in Huntsville, AL, and in turn, show kindness to families all around the world. It's our desire to provide a place for international students to cultivate friendships with Huntsville locals that extend beyond our events.

OUR MISSION
Huntsville Global Friends is dedicated to welcoming international students, providing opportunities for cultural exchange with local residents, and enriching their experience in our community.
​
We host monthly dinners on the UAH campus, game nights in homes of local residents, and other activities in the community. Students and locals are welcome to come and go as they wish. We encourage locals to reach out to students beyond the events.
